Happy Gay Pride Week!

Toronto celebrates Gay Pride for a full week in late June (June 19 through June 28, in 2009), in part to honor what many consider to be one of the foremost events in the history of lesbian and gay rights, New York City's Stonewall Riots, which commenced early in the morning on June 28, 1969. One of North America's leading gay destinations, Toronto has been holding Pride observances since '70s, and events have been held annually here since 1981. These days, Toronto Pride's most prominent event, the Pride Parade, draws more than 1.2 million spectators and participants annually, making it one of the top such draws in the world. The key Toronto Gay Pride events take place in the city's Church Street area, around the intersection with Wellesley Street.

Peace Dot Love Tonight at Kool Haus!

"The first annual Peace Dot Love Festival is inspired by Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin who were senselessly taken from us in an act of random gun violence in June of 2008. Friends, family and the community at large struggled to make sense of the void left by Dylan and Oliver, and what they found was increased violence affecting the city of Toronto and the GTA and a growing need to take immediate action.

Through a collective effort Leave Out Violence, Peace Builders International and D.O it! created Peace Dot Love to support national and local anti-violence initiatives through a music platform to educate, empower, inspire hope and change in our community. With an overall effort of raising youth awareness through the power of music and art, Peace Dot Love will take place at the Kool Haus on Thursday, June 18th 2009 from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am."

14 different artists and bands will be performing including  Down with Webster, and We are the Take (both CD's are available at jacflash!), The Stereos (drummer Aaron Verdonk worked with jacflash before launching off with his band!), Anna Cyzon (jacflash is dressing Anna tonight!), Mookie Morris, Dragonette and many more amazing bands.

We are so proud of our Nae's cameo in the new Our Lady Peace Video, "All you Did was Save my Life". She looks so beautiful and did an astounding job (I actually started bawling when she showed it to me haha), we love you and couldn't be more excited for you!
